About
EPS Services & Tooling Ltd has been proudly manufacturing bandsaw blades in Somerset for over 35 years, and today, we’re supplying and servicing blades for some of the busiest sawmills across the UK.
With over 100 years of combined expertise spread across our four UK sites, we pride ourselves on having the best-trained technicians in the industry, armed with the knowledge and technology needed to tackle the sharpening needs of all sorts of cutting tools and sawing applications.
While our primary focus is on manufacturing and servicing wide bandsaw blades for the timber processing industry, our expertise doesn’t stop there. We also know our way around circular saws, narrow bandsaws, and a variety of other timber processing tools. And yes, we offer supply, sharpening, and re-tipping services for all of them.
Operating from our dedicated service centres in Wiveliscombe (Somerset), Kirkaldy (Fife), Chelmsford (Essex), and Gerrymet (West Midlands) we boast over 32,000 square feet of productive workspace. Whether you’re a small joinery or a large-scale timber mill, EPS is perfectly equipped to handle your unique cutting and sharpening requirements.
Planer knives have been a key part of timber processing for centuries, and today, with a wide range of modern machinery and processes, we carry an extensive stock of HSS and TCT knives. Our dedicated sales team is always ready to help you choose the right tooling for your cutting needs. Most products are available from stock, with next-day delivery and collection options at your service.
Leading Manufacturers of Bandsaw Blades in the UK
From each of our service centres, we provide a weekly delivery and collection service covering most of mainland Britain, using our own fleet of vehicles and drivers. That means you’ll always have a friendly, knowledgeable face to deal with whenever you need our services.
EPS is also leading the charge in reducing emissions in the industry, with clear targets to achieve Net Zero by 2050. In line with this commitment, we offer a free tooling disposal service once your tools reach the end of their life. A quality bandsaw blade needs to be consistent, resistant to fatigue, and have excellent elasticity — qualities that are essential for getting the job done right. To achieve this, using high-quality steel is key to producing blades that can withstand extended timber processing and longer run times. After thorough testing, we recommend Bohler Uddeholm’s latest range of bandsaw steel, BOHLERSTRIP.
Designed specifically for premium bandsaw blades, BOHLERSTRIP is available in various sizes and specifications to suit your needs. It comes in BS44 (tensile strength 1450 N/mm²) and BS49 (tensile strength 1670 N/mm²), providing the reliable quality and performance you’d expect from Bohler Uddeholm. The added nickel content improves durability for all wide bandsaw coils 1.2mm or thicker.
