Our commitment to Net Zero
As a signatory member of the Network Net Zero Community, EPS Services & Tooling Ltd are committing to the following:
- To achieve Net Zero by 2050 and target a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030.
- To set realistic short and long-term goals, to ensure we reach our net zero target.
- To regularly report our company’s greenhouse gas emissions, and for our performance to form part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change community annual reporting.
With the help of SWMAS’s Make it Net Zero programme, we have been able to carry out a full carbon footprint review, which will be used as a benchmark to help achieve our goals, and take responsibility for our place as part of a wider sustainable business environment.
EPS Services and Tooling Ltd made its pledge to the Race to Zero via the Network Net Zero Community on 8th March 2022. The record of the pledge can be found online.
The steel in the bandsaws we supply to our customers accounts for over 70% of our carbon footprint. Our steel supplier, voestalpine, who manufacture both the Uddeholm and Bohler branded strip coil we supply as finished bandsaws have made their own commitment to net zero.
Over the long term their goal is to successively increase the share of green hydrogen used in their steel production, arriving at carbon neutral steel by 2050
