EPS Services & Tooling has expanded across the greater South West with the acquisition of Davenport Western Ltd and the sharpening division of Mid Cornwall Saw Services. These moves enhance service capabilities, tool supply and customer support across Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset and Gloucestershire.

Strategic growth with local focus

EPS Services & Tooling continues to invest in the future of UK manufacturing and processing. Earlier this year, we completed the acquisitions of Davenport Western Ltd and the sharpening division of Mid Cornwall Saw Services, strengthening our presence across the greater South West.

Since expanding, we have worked with a wide range of new customers and listened to their individual needs. We are aligning services with local expectations and improving every week. Our aim is to build lasting partnerships based on trust and reliability. If something is not quite right, tell us and we will make it right. These acquisitions are not just about scale. By integrating two trusted local businesses into the EPS network, we are building on decades of expertise while bringing the benefits of broader technical capability, logistics and supply chain.

From Yeovil to Cornwall

In July 2025, EPS completed the acquisition of the assets of Davenport Western Ltd in Yeovil. Known for craftsmanship and customer dedication, Davenport’s legacy aligns with our own. Their equipment and stock are now integrated into our headquarters in Wiveliscombe, ensuring continuity for Davenport customers.

Shortly afterwards, we acquired the sharpening division of Mid Cornwall Saw Services. That transition included specialist machinery and valuable local insight. A familiar face remains central to service in Cornwall. Rob Merrifield supported Mid Cornwall customers as a trusted delivery driver for more than 20 years and continues that work within EPS.

These moves signal long-term investment in the region’s manufacturing and processing sectors. Alongside saws for timber, our team supports band reconditioning (BRD), high speed steel tooling and precision sharpening. The greater South West is home to diverse industries and we are committed to helping manufacturers, processors and sawmills stay sharp, competitive and well supported.
